Anaplan Case Number: 00367086: Self Service SAML It was a prerequisite that to use pivot in G sheets, the customer must be on self-serving SAML. However, despite being on self-serving SAML, we are not able to pivot. Could you please elaborate more regarding this? @MagaliP @annejulie Any help from you would be truly appreciated as we are very keen to use this daily (customer of Anaplan) Thanks Adithya

The information toolbar suggests that we pivot in Anaplan using filters and pivot feature. This is an inconvenience from the user experience perspective. If that were to be the case then we are better off creating views for everyone. Moreover, this feature that's been mentioned as information does not work as intended. Could you please show us the information page in the community where we can refer to what has been mentioned here? Thanks Adithya

At present we can publish all other actions to UX except for Export Actions, without creating a process button. It would be nice to publish the export action without having to create a process button. We could create process button only for those which needs to be grouped together. When we have siloed export process of one particular module / data set, it would be better if we had the option to publish the export action directly to the UX without having to create a process button.

It would be nice to have the subsets updated dynamically using a formula driven boolean linking to the subsets as a formula, just like how we have the option to link Display Name to a formula in a module. This would certainly eliminate much needed efforts of running the action every time when we have to update the subset. This option along with the current feature of updating through actions would make the feature and, model building more efficient. Model builders would look for ways to automate and scale the model with the formula driven subsets which can be updated dynamically.

While setting up the Dynamic Cell Access based on user roles we would have to resort to a workaround where we would create a list of roles and based on that we would setup the DCA. However, if the ROLES (native system defined) could be allowed as a dimension, just like how the users are allowed to be used a list, it would give us more possibilities with respect to DCA setup. This would eliminate a lot of groundwork needed for DCA setup when it comes to role based access + DCA setup.

It would be nice to have a functionality which can generate code / auto-populate code, just like how a display name is populated. A property, specifying the code attribute could be useful and reduce the effort needed to create actions and line items to generate code. When we create an item using the assign functionality, the codes are not populated and we would have to create the line items and necessary actions to populate the code. If, this could be achieved through a property based, just like the display name, then this would be certainly reduce the effort and also eliminate redundant efforts needed to achieve this. @usman.zia This feature would certainly help in many use cases. One such use case would be for filtered items to give the total in the summary only for those items which are true and it can be an option to choose from the summary method (Summary based on filter). Nice idea.

However you can have different pages from various models under the same app. So you can actually build 2 pages under the same app from different models. That way your concerns regarding the data exposure to the users can be restricted and monitored accordingly. It would be great if there was an option to adjust the cards, grids, KPI's for height, width, and length by absolute numbers like we had for classic UX. The reason for this request is that some of the grids need to be extended or will take more space and need not be on an equal proportion. For example, if there are 3 cards in the same line of view, one of the cards needs to take up 50% space and the other two can be equally distributed for 25% of the space. While we can adjust it manually we find that sometimes it has been distributed by error, unequally. Hence it would be great if we could specify the size of the cards so that we don't have to worry about alignment errors by hand. If this can feature can be applied to all types of New UX entities (Text, KPI's, grids, field etc.) it would be a wonderful addition. Thanks Adithya

When we speak of governance and audit of access, if the number of people who have the right to setup the roles/access are more it would complicate the process and also create security issues. It would be best if the access is handled by admin with relevant approvals in the process, that way we know who has been added / updated for access recently. But on a side note, may be Anaplan can come up with a role to help sort this workload where a role with selected users have a right to setup the access and it should be handled through the TENANT ADMIN portal (like how we provide PAGE BUILDER access.) This should help ease the burden. Only if there is a provision for such a role to be monitored by the TENANT ADMIN portal then it would be within the framework of governance and audit principles.

Hi @BoltConsulting So, I tried to create what you said about 'formula clash.' It happens when you have a formula selected as 'All versions' and you have used a version formulae for Actual. What you may need to do is break those cross connections of formulae on version. Target specific version for formula using subset and the rest can be taken care of formula scope or a system versions boolean module. Check for those line items which have been added for version formulae and try the below example. You probably would have to change a lot of formulae but this breaks the cycle of Version formulae clash. In the below example, what I have tried is to target specific line items for those versions which have formulae and the rest would be using a system module, combination of formula scope, and IF ELSE statements for specific formulae. I may not be knowing the inner workings of your model, but, if that clash does occur you may have to resort to the use of system versions module and target the versions for specific formulae. Hi @BoltConsulting The major difference between a Version formulae and Formula Scope is the use of line item subset for Version formulae. The moment we speak about Version formulae you would have to resort to line item subset. Whereas, the Formula Scope works without any additional prerequisites (it works on a text formatted field as well) The effort needed to use Version formulae would be considerably more when compared to formula scope. You must create line items subsets wherever applicable and enter the Version formulae. This is just my personal observation and I may not be seeing the complete picture with respect to the workings of your model. However, you are just creating the line item subset and not actually creating modules which was a concern for you with respect to WS size impact. You have the flexibility to write formulae accordingly for each version using Version formulae and also use Formula Scope at the same time. You can store the Actuals data in a staging module and refer those with formula scope and write the respective version formulae for other versions. Here is a test example that I have tried. However, this is only for number formatted line items as you know that the line items subsets work on number formatted line items. For any other formatted line items use Formula Scope or the combination of ISACTUALVERSION, ISCURRENTVERSION. @NehaSharma It works fine in New UX. Not sure what are the parameters of your filter, but try to use a saved view from the module views and see if it works fine. I just tried using a saved view and it does not behave like what you mentioned in the issue. Hope this helps.

As a model builder it would be nice to have a button to add dimension to the module and also to the line item after one has created the module. At the moment we can add the dimension to the module through the applies to section of the blueprint. It would be nice to have a window of dimension screen that is shown when we are in the process of creating a module, that way one would be able to add a subset / line item subset which would be neatly segregated under the same list. Also, thinking of line items with subsidiary view or different dimensions, this feature should also cater to individual line item selection for adding dimensions. The snapshot is just a depiction of to be state, if the functionality is provided, which would exactly look like the state of present functionality when we create a module.

It would be a wonderful addition to the new UX, if the combination charts were allowed to be used with many different parameters which cater to many statistical methods such as box and whiskers plot which would allow to plot IQR (Inter Quartile Range), MAX and MIN of the entity as per traditional plot of Box and Whiskers.

My question is as follows:- What would be the roadmap for Anaplan with respect to AI and advanced analytics? We have been hearing a lot about this and wanted to know what Anaplan’s role would be in disrupting this domain since we have such a powerful integrated connected planning platform! Do you see advanced algorithms and deep learning programs driving the planning with our connected planning platform soon and still be able to retain the essence of the platform?
