Enhancements to the Way You Model

  • Assign Only action:You can now set up Assign Only actions that enable users to assign list items to a parent, but not un-assign list items. The Assign action is still available, but you can choose Assign Only to enhance the approval process. For example, an approver might not want another user to remove items from a list that they've previously approved.
  • Order a list:A new administrative action will allow a list to be sorted based on a numeric or text formatted line item. This functionality will give modellers the ability to define the sort criteria to help position new list members as desired. This will greatly improve productivity by removing manual steps when new items are added.

UX Updates

  • Dashboard Import tool:Easily move a Classic dashboard to the New UX. This accelerator tool pulls across module grids and standard charts from a Classic dashboard to a Board page. The Dashboard Import tool is a great starting point to building out pages in the UX based on an existing dashboard, which can be modified as needed
  • Map charts:Show global and regional maps, to highlight countries or states based on performance. The UX map charts include support for all the existing regions today in Classic, as well as the addition of regional areas within Germany, Japan, and the UK.

  • Chart axis settings:Increased flexibility of chart axis scale settings include Auto, Fixed, and Fixed-auto.
  • Sparkline series color change:We have introduced the ability to manually change the color series on Sparklines. This allows you to create a consistent color palette across all charts on your Board.
  • Notify Action:You can now edit your Notifications configured to a board or worksheet.
  • Admin console ‘Workspaces’ on the New UX:In the spirit of bringing the Classic and new UX experiences closer together, we released a new Workspace page. The functionality is at parity with Classic Workspaces and we plan on further enhancing it next month.

  • Updates to the way forms behave in the UX:During the week of October 12, we will be making updates to how forms work in the UX. Currently, forms are associated with models and the same instance of the form can be reused/shared many times across different pages built on top of the same model. To support new ALM functionalities, forms will only be associated with a single page and existing forms on pages will become standalone once these updates are complete.

Leverage UX ALM to associate dev and prod models with pages:

We are introducing features to enable a single page to support application lifecycle workflows without the need for separate development and production apps. Specifically, where you have access to models, you can:

    • Choose between different source modelsassociated with a page.
    • Associate multiple models with a pageso you can switch the source model of a page as part of an application lifecycle. For example, Dev, Prod 1, Prod 2, etc.
    • Make draft page changes against a development modeland save before publishing to the production model or models.

Admin console enhancements:

    • Workspace usage:Gain visibility into Workspace percent utilization in near real-time. Administrators can view usage across the tenant.
    • Users on New UX:In the spirit of bringing the Classic and New UX experiences closer together, we are releasing a new users page. The functionality will be at parity with the Classic users page.
    • Self-Service SAML enhancements:To simplify the security admin’s SSO setup, we’re enhancing the workspace selection to only include workspaces that are not associated to another identity provider.

Extensions:

    • Third phase of Excel Add-in 4.0 release:In the first half of October, all users of the Excel Add-in 3.1/3.2/3.3/3.4 will see a pop-up notification when they open Excel, indicating that a new version is available. If you would like to use the new version ahead of time, you can download it from Anapedia.
    • Excel Add-in 4.1 and PowerPoint Add-in 1.7: Existing SSO customers who already migrated to Self-Service SAML are currently able to use these Add-ins. In October, we will release new versions of our Office Add-ins that support Self-Service SAML for new customers as well. These versions will also be enhanced based on user feedback. We’ll do a phased release approach similar to Excel 4.0 so you can test them before your users are notified.
    • End of support of Office 2010: As announcedhere, if you are an Office 2010 user, you will still be able to use the Office Add-ins and Anaplan Support will still assist you with your queries but no further development work will be done to support issues specific to Office 2010.

Mobile app enhancements:

    • Actions on mobile:Use your mobile app to run processes using the mobile app. This won’t include imports and exports but will mean all other processes can be run from anywhere.
    • View field card values on your board:We’re changing the way field cards are displayed in the app so you will be able to view values inside the fields without needing to maximize the card.

Upcoming scheduled maintenance:
