Level 2 1.5.8.1 Create Saved View for DAT03 Module - summary method

I'm on Level 2 1.5.8.1 Create Saved View for DAT03 Module, and I have Monthly subtotals in my saved view and I can't see how to get rid of them. Other than that my saved view matches the requirement. Here is the requirement screen shot:

And here is my screen shot:

There is a hint in the activity about which summary method should be used, but i haven't been able to see the solution yet. Can anyone give me a hint on how i can remove the monthly subtotals that i'm showing?

Thanks in advance.

Hey@pmorgan

The reason you are not getting any data is the filter applied to the view. Check the filter criteria and adjust accordingly.

You don't need to do permutations to figure out where the None summary should go. based on the information you provided, you need the "Time" summary method to be None so that's what you should choose.

Hi@pmorgan

你提到了一个重要的point here and I'd like to expand on it.

There are things that apply to the module as a whole (structural elements) and others we can change and customize for saved views (display elements).
What we can customize for saved views are the following:

  1. Which columns/rows are shown or hidden.
  2. Filters
  3. Conditional Formating
  4. Pivot ( the way the data is displayed)

A summary method is structural and applies to the whole module. You can't customize it from one saved view to another. A line item will have the same summary method across all saved views.

Similarly, for example, the Data format, the line item formulas,..... all these are structural elements of the module and can't be changed from a saved view to another.
Elements that could be customized for saved views are mainly "display" related

Hello@pmorgan

one of the summary methods is None. Which means Anaplan won’t aggregate the values of a lower level.
In your case, it seems that a summary method for time (months value) is not needed, therefore you should change the summary method to “None”

@einas.ibrahimWhen I go to BP mode and change the summary method to none, everything goes away:

none.png

I get this:

gone away.png

I tried every permutation involving none in the summary method column of this line item and none of them are giving me the desired result of just eliminating the monthly totals. By the way, if it helps shed any light here is what the filter looks like that i'm using on this saved view:

Am I supposed be using a formula to hide the sub-totals?

@einas.ibrahimI think if figured this out - I was trying to apply none on the summary methodof my saved view- this did not work. So I went back to the module DAT 03 Historic Volumes and tried changing the summary column to none there - and that worked. So i then created a new saved view from this, overwrote the previous one, and it looks like i'm good to go now:

So it appears that the trick here was that i had to be working from the module. Trying it on the already created saved view was not the way to go. Does that make sense?

I am having the same problem as identified as above, and the solutions provided don't seem to solve the issue. The summary selection for time in the module is set to none :

JagBrar_0-1620779137557.png

That setting removes the totals for the months:

JagBrar_1-1620779181471.png

when I apply the following filter, all values disappear:

@einas.ibrahimyour solution implies something is wrong with the way I am setting up the filter, but I can't figure out what.
